Malizia Clinic

Malizia Clinic is a Georgia non-profit corporation, organized to deliver the highest possible level of medical and surgical care for urologic conditions, train already experienced surgeons in advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures, and conduct clinical research.

Piedmont Radiology Imaging Services

Piedmont Radiology Services are offering the state-of-the-art Philips Gemini TF PET/CT scanner at the new Piedmont Outpatient Center at Piedmont West Medical Office Park on Howell Mill Road. It is one of the first services offered at the new location and sets a new benchmark in image quality for oncology, and neurology PET/CT procedures.

The Gemini TF with Tru-Flight opens the pathway to molecular imaging applications. The Tru-Flight technology reduces "noise" or distortion in the PET images, providing superb image quality and increased sensitivity.

"We are thrilled to be able to provide our patients with this cutting-edge imaging technology," said Randy Sprinkle, administrative director for radiology services at Piedmont Hospital. "At Piedmont, we strive to not only bring world-class services to the community, but also to increase access by providing convenient service to our patients as we continue to grow and expand."

In addition to the new PET/CT scanner, the Piedmont Outpatient Center will offer a number of convenient, state-of-the-art medical imaging and radiation oncology services including:

Radiation Oncology (Therapy)

Radiation oncology uses powerful X-rays to treat cancer and some non-cancerous medical conditions. More than half of cancer patients are treated with radiation during their illness. Using the most advancedtechnology available, Piedmont Hospital's highly-skilled radiation oncology team provides a full-range ofradiation treatment for all tumor locations, sizes and types.

What is radiation therapy?
Radiation therapy is the precise targeting of high-energy radiation to treat cancer. One of the largestradiation therapy programs in the state, specialists at Piedmont Hospital provide nearly 15,000 radiationtherapy treatments each year.

The goal of radiation therapy is to deliver a sufficient dose of radiation to the target area to destroy the cancer cells while sparing the surrounding healthy tissue. Your cancer treatment team will work with youand your medical oncologist to determine the most appropriate treatments for you.
